January 31, 2019: The Institute of Contemporary History Marks Half a Century of Continuous Activity

On January 31, the Institute of Contemporary History (ICH) celebrated an important jubilee – 50 years of continuous activity. On this occasion, Dr. Vladimir Popović, state secretary in the Serbian Ministry of Science, and Dr. Marina Soković, assistant minister, visited our institute. They also attended a meeting of our Management Board, followed by cocktails hosted by former ICH Director, Professor Momčilo Pavlović, who announced our annual awards. Dragana Miladinović, Dr. Ratomir Milikić, and Dr. Miomir Gatalović received awards for a decade of outstanding work at the ICH. A special award was given to Dr. Milan Koljanin for his achievements at the Institute on the occasion of his retirement. The “Dr. Ljubomir Ljuba Petrović“ Award for best master thesis on The History of Yugoslavia at the School of Philosophy, University of Belgrade, was given to Nemanja Mitrović’s work entitled “Yugoslav-Romanian Relations: Meetings and Talks Between Josip Broz Tito and Nicolae Ceauşescu in 1969 and 1970.“
