Institute for Contemporary History
is a research institution dedicated to furthering the understanding of the recent past, facilitating the study of political, social, economic and cultural history in the context of Serbian, Yugoslav, Balkan, European, and global society.Founded over half a century ago, the Institute builds on those traditions. Scholarly activity in the Institute is conducted in accordance with our program, through research projects and the development of scholarly cooperation. Our results are presented through our publishing activity, the organization of international, regional and local scholarly symposia, as well as the publication of our journal "Istorija 20.veka" (History of the 20th Century).Located in downtown Belgrade, at 11 Nikola Pašić Square, (Trg Nikole Pašića 11), the Institute hosts a rich library, a documentation and digital center, thus fostering professional access to our work and promoting public interest in the recent past.

During a research in Zagreb, on November 7th, a delegation of the Institute visited the Croatian Institute for History. On that occasion, the deputy director of the Institute, dr. Bojan Dimitrijević, signed the Agreement on Scientific and Research Cooperation with the director of the Croatian Institute for History dr. sc. Gordan Ravančić.

On October 31st, in Niš, the Protocol on Scientific Cooperation with the Faculty of Philosophy was signed. The protocol was signed by the dean prof. dr. Natalija Jovanovic, Head of History Department prof. Dr. Irena Ljubomirović and Deputy Director of the Institute Dr. Bojan Dimitrijevic.

On October 10, in the Novi Sad, Director of the Institute, prof. dr. Predrag J. Marković, Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy prof. Dr. Ivana Živančević Sekeruš and Head of the Department of History at the Faculty of Philosophy prof. Dr. Ivan Jordović signed the Protocol on scientific cooperation.

On October 3rd, as part of the 100th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Poland and Serbia, lectures from Polish historians, associates of the Institute of History of the University of Pedagogical University in Krakow, were held in the reading room of the Belgrade City Library.

Within the framework of bilateral cooperation between the Institute of Contemporary History and the Institute of History and International Relations of Casimir the Great University, the 7th Scientific Conference on Yugoslav-Polish Relations in the 20th Century was held in Bydgoszcz, on September 25-26.

On September 17, Director of the Institute for Contemporary History, prof. dr Predrag J. Marković, and President of the Serbian National Council, Boris Milošević, signed the Protocol on Scientific and Cultural Cooperation between the Institute of Contemporary History in Belgrade and the Serbian National Council in Zagreb.
